To Speak At the January 28, 2012 Magnificat Luncheon
At St Elias Maronite Rite Catholic Church, Parish Hall

“He who is mighty has done great things for me.” Luke 1; 49

Our Magnificat speaker, Sister Anne Marie Schreiner, D.C., is well known and loved in our diocese. For the past 12 years, Birmingham has been richly blessed by her love for Jesus and her contagious enthusiasm to share His love. As a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sister generously volunteers her time to serve in many areas, especially in the prayer ministry.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Sister was the youngest of four girls. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School and St. Augustine Academy. Following graduation, Sister entered the community of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul at Emmitsburg, MD. Sister Anne Marie earned her B.A. and an M.A. in Education. She has been certified in the art of Spiritual Direction through the Center for Spirituality at Work in Denver, CO. Sister attended the Christian Healing Ministries with Francis and Judith MacNutt in Jacksonville, Fl. where she completed all four levels of the School of Healing Prayer and Internship.

For the past 55 years as a Daughter of Charity, Sister Anne Marie has served in various ministries: as an elementary school teacher, a pastoral associate, an activities coordinator for the retired sisters of her community, and a docent at the Basilica of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Through retreat work and spiritual direction, she has made it easy for many to find Jesus in their lives. Sister is known in Birmingham as the “cheerleader” of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and serves as Spiritual Advisor on the Secretariat for the Diocesan Cursillo Movement. She currently works in the Medical Library of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham where everyone enjoys her beautiful smile.

Come to Magnificat and bring a friend with you to be uplifted and motivated as Sister Anne Marie shares how Jesus has done great things for her and is the center of her life.
