Cathy Johnson
To Speak At the August 25, 2012 Magnificat Breakfast
At St Elias Maronite Rite Catholic Church, Parish Hall

“For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord” Jer. 29:11

Cathy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, of second generation Japanese parents and the oldest of seven children. She attended Catholic schools, married shortly after graduation, and moved to the Mobile, AL. area. She eventually moved to New Orleans where she lived for 38 years. Cathy was away from the church for 28 years before returning “home.” She joined a Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign group in 1999, and through a covenantal relationship with the Blessed Mother, Cathy developed a great devotion to her.

When Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, Cathy was at a retreat in Wisconsin. Her devotion to the Blessed Mother and consecration to the will of God sustained her during that time and gave her peace, even though her house, car, and possessions were ruined. She then moved to Birmingham to be near her family.

As a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, Cathy selflessly serves in various ministries and is always at God’s disposal. Offering her servant’s heart, Cathy worked with the Magnificat Central Service Team in New Orleans, and she uses her many talents in service to the Birmingham Chapter. She also substitutes as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham and is a member of the St. John Vianney Vocational Society. Her patience and perseverance truly mirror Our Lady’s attributes.

Cathy is the Alabama State Coordinator of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign. She appeared with Father Gerold Langsch, National Director of the Schoenstatt Movement in the U.S.A. on EWTN’s “Live with Father Mitch Pacwa” in June, 2011.

Come and hear how, through Schoenstatt and the grace of God, Cathy grew to be the faith-filled woman she is today.
