Kathy Tortorice has worn many hats, that of daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver and friend to many. If you ever needed help, Kathy would do her hardest to be there for you
She is a Cradle Catholic, borne to Anne and Rocco Renno in Trenton, NJ and raised in Birmingham, AL where she attended and graduated from Blessed Sacrament Elementary School, John Carroll High School and Jefferson State Junior College. In 1970 she married Charles Tortorice, and continued what she calls a "normal life" with its ups and downs, raising their three children, Chuck, Tommy, and LeeAnne (Sister Maria Teresa, T. O. R.) and working in data processing at intervals as the children were growing up.
In 2002, an event occurred that drew Kathy closer to the Holy Spirit and toward a new relationship with the Lord. The Scripture verse from Luke 11:9-10 took on a new meaning: "Ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives, and he who seeks, finds and to him who knocks, it will be opened" She still lives a normal life with all its challenges, but she now trusts the Lord to take care of her and all her needs.
Kathy is a member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer and is a special friend of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church also in Bessemer. She is a member of two charismatic prayer groups: Rejoice in the Lord and St Albert's which meet at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She presently serves as Treasurer of Mary Woman of Faith Chapter of Magnificat in Birmingham, AL.
Come to Magnificat on April 24th and bring a friend with you to find out what happened that changed Kathy's life and how the Holy Spirit can change your life too. Kathy says, "All you have to do is ask"
